Don’t panic. I’m with you. There’s no need to fear for I’m your God. I’ll give you STRENGTH. I’ll hold you steady, keep a FIRM GRIP on you. Isaiah 41:10 Message
I am thankful that God keeps a firm grip on my hand when I am going through fear- provoking scenarios because I can relax and enjoy the adventure.
Did you ever get separated from your parents when you were a child? It can be terrifying. Or, on the other hand, have you ever looked up and not seen your little one when you are at a store or in the mall.
As you navigate the challenges of life it can sometimes feel that you are having to make in on your own. There is that sense of panic when you lose a job, have a car accident, exchange harsh words with a loved one, hear a bad prognosis from a doctor, etc. You can fill in the blank with your current situation. It may feel like the bottom has dropped out and you see no hope in your own strength.
Hope Tool
Replace panic with peace as you sense God’s presence
Now this is not a simple 1-2-3 trick. Panic is your body going in to motion to handle an emergency. When one of the situations described above happen all your body systems activate to fight the enemy off. Panic is extreme fear. It either gets us to make some rash move or to run for cover. Panic is replaced by peace to the measure that you pause and sense God’s presence in the midst of the difficult, dark place. Panic does not go away until you replace it with peace.
Prayer
Thank You, Lord, for the promise that You are always with us no matter what we are going through. This is a work of Your grace and does not depend on my own self efforts to make everything work out. So when I feel panic grip my heart, I choose to believe that I do not have to go down the fear path. Instead, I can thank You and acknowledge Your presence. Thank You for claiming to be my God and for giving me strength. You are the one who steadies me the one who won’t let go of my hand. Give me the grace to see this worked out in my life in EVERY circumstance. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
