Respect those who are worthy of respect, honoring them accordingly. Romans 13:7 The Passion Translation
Our kids decided to honor their Dad a few years before he moved to Heaven. We invited lifelong friends and family to write an email or send a card with what they honored most about him. We compiled them in a scrapbook and gave it to him. He was blown away and deeply touched. We had no idea at the time that he would die a few years later. Honoring those you love while they can still enjoy the expressions is a priceless gift to all. Not sure what to say? You are in the right place.
Often those closest to you do not know how deeply you respect them and what you value most about their lives. As you learn to honor be sure to acknowledge who they are and not simply what they do. When we seek to honor those we love most we are often at a loss of words because we have not seen it modeled for us. That is the reason I have chosen this topic. Honor them for the character qualities they leave as a legacy to future generations.
In this series, you will be handed a great gift. This gift is comprised of 31 descriptive words with active definitions and specific examples so you can let those who matter the most to you know how much you honor them while they are still alive rather than waiting to share it at their eulogy. The Honor Keys will challenge you to dig deeper for stories, anecdotes, jokes and examples to use to make the honor memorable and lasting.
Be prepared to see a few tears as you speak honoring words or write these in a card, letter or email. Honor is a priceless gift. Why not start immediately to honor those you love? That’s the way to live with NO regrets.
