Several people came to mind that exhibit this trait. And you are right, they don;t think it is any big deal. But Jesus certainly says to the contrary. I will send at least one note today to a “meek” person thanking them for their service and example. I shared this post on social media.
Susan, you are such a blessing to me. I honor the way you comment so consistently and encourage me in this challenge. Thanks for sharing. Please go back and use some of the creative wording if you need to. I added to that part of the post! You are the best!!!!
Susan,
Thanks SO much for the share. I shared yours as well. I am loving what you are posting. You inspire me every day.

This is a beautiful, honoring post to your friend –as well as a great reminder to the reader to not only look for and honor those who serve with humility but to also BE those who serve with humility! It seems, in our culture (inside and outside of the church!) not caring who gets the credit is a lost art! Let’s purpose to bring it back! Great post, Karen!
Karrilee,
Thank you SO much for stopping by. Your words feed my writer’s soul. That makes me so happy to know that you are looking for those to honor in your life. I love your posts as well and so love seeing how God is using your creative writing.
It can be quite difficult to leave things in God’s hands and to His timing; but that is just what we should do! That is placing our lives into His very capable hands. And following His will for it as we work from day to day, serving Him.
A good friend of mine passed recently and He is the one I thought about as I read through your post. This note, edited a little for what He meant in the life of my family and I, very well could have been one I’d write to him; rather I write in his memory.
Thank you, Karen!
“I remember the way you have served without caring who gets the credit. I am rejoicing with you in the reward of reaching your Heavenly Home and are enjoying right now. Know that you are so worthy of this honor, to be in the presence of our Lord and Savior. Please know that your legacy of being a servant is truly noticed and engraved in the hearts of those who have been blessed to have known you. I am among of one of those to be blessed to have you in my life and that of my family.”
Barbara,
You have me in tears. Your friend no longer needs your encouragement yet the family will treasure this same note or Facebook post. Thank you for letting me know this wording was helpful. Hugs and blessings to you and yours. I will pray for you and the family of your dear friend as they mourn.
Love,
Karen

What a gift for your friend. These words I’m sure will bless her.
She cried happy tears and was surprised I had picked her. I want to do so much better in the honoring arena.
I never really understood what meekness really was…you cleared it up, gracefully and with skill!
