Longevity Secrets from the Life of Bill Pritchett
For you are my only hope, Lord! I’ve hung on to you, trusting in you all my life. Psalm 71:5 TPT
This is how Dad smiled every day and in every circumstance. He was not stingy with his hope, certainty and good cheer. As a self-proclaimed optimist, he loved to tell jokes about what a pessimist would say. He refers to his optimism in several sermons where he speaks about trusting God to work out the details once he could get “the victory.” After Mom moved to Heaven we spoke daily and there were times when we had to pray for Dad’s breakthrough to victory. The prayers were answered quickly.
Here are several of his definitions of how to live in victory:
“You know, I never could figure out why people had a problem with the way I looked at the world because I was looking for the bright side. I was actually looking for the revelation of Jesus in everything that comes my way.”
“You need to have a certainty that God is going to do exactly what He promised even when you don’t see the evidence right now and that’s the definition of faith.”
“The anticipation of being with Jesus changes everything. It may seem hard to get out of here but Jesus will make a way because He always does.”
