Don’t put it off, and don’t rest until you get it done. Rescue yourself from future pain and be free from it once and for all.
You’ll be so relieved that you did!

I strongly dislike doing taxes. Since I have a corporation it’s not as simple as the filing that someone who works for a company can do quickly. As the time moves toward the deadline, I increasingly get agitated and angry that I have done it again. It seems like the only way that I can accomplish the dreaded task of gathering my informaiton is to beat myself up. I make it through the season and then go back to normal until next year.

This cycle of perfectionism and procrastination have been a part of my life for my entire life. Until TODAY!

This year has been different because I broke the seemingly insurmountable task into 20 minute segments. I forced myself to only work on it for the allotted time each day.

Several things happened:

  1. I focused completely on the task at hand.
  2. I praised and rewarded myself for the 20 minute accomplish each day.
  3. I was kind to myself.
  4. I am so relieved that I took proactive steps to finish in a timely manner.

What have you been procrastinating?
