We are confident that God is able to orchestrate everything to work toward something good and beautiful when we love Him and accept His invitation to live according to His plan. Romans 8:28 (VOICE)
How do you live a life with no regrets?
What does that look like and is it even possible?
As I look back on the panorama of my life, I can clearly see that there were things that I could have done differently if I had known then what I know now. The problem is that I didn’t know what I didn’t know.
When a painful memory hits me like a ‘kick in the gut’ I have a choice to make.
I either cave in and despair that I will ever get anything right or I choose to believe that God is big to orchestrate everything to work toward something good and beautiful from every situation. I choose the second one.
I only know one way to do this and it is to trust the Great Recycler to somehow bring good from every mistake from the past. The grace of God extends beyond what I can understand and can see right now. I look around me and I trust that regrets are not a solid foundation on which to construct a life.
I believe there is no waste in God’s economy. He is able to take all the broken pieces of wrong decisions and horrible mistakes and somehow bring about beauty and redemption.
My part is simply to let go of the lies that kicked me in the pit of my stomach and allow Him to replace them with His truth that He has never stopped working in my life and He has a plan.
