Mom and Dad loved to sing together.
Longevity Secrets from the Life of Bill Pritchett
I will jump for joy and shout in triumph as I sing your song and make music for the Most High God. Psalm 9:2 TPT
Dad loved to sing. He started out singing lead in a quartet with his three siblings. He had a clear tenor voice and a good range. I don’t remember when Mom and Dad started singing together. It was pretty much something they did in most evening services. When they went to Latin America they translated the songs so they could sing them in Spanish.
Mom played the accordion beautifully and they could take it wherever they went in order to lead the worship of the services. This was very convenient in Central America because most of the places we went did not have any other instruments.
Dad never lost the ability to sing. In fact, in his last few weeks before moving to Heaven he sang all the time.
One day when I went into his room first thing in the morning he was singing “I woke up this morning feeling fine. I woke up with Heaven on my mind.” Then he sang it again, “I woke up this morning feeling fine — what happened?”
It is wonderful to think that Mom and Dad are singing together once again and worshiping the Lord. This was the hallmark of their lives and now they are in His presence.
