But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, YIELDING, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. James 3:17 Voice
The word for yielding used in this verse is the Greek word eupeithḗs that means that you are pre-disposed and favorable to working with others. You easily cooperate and come to terms with others because you are already willing to do so. In light of this definition, it seems that yielding is a choice that comes from a position of strength as you incorporate all the other descriptors in this verse into your life:
- Purity
- Loving peace
- Being considerate
- Yielding
- Being full of mercy
- Bearing good fruit
- Being impartial
- Showing true sincerity
